BlackholesPerformance

Based on the real life story of Adlène Hicheur, an Algerian-French particle physicist (born 1976) who was accused of plotting terrorist attacks in 2009, performance deals with the acute reality of a collision of the Western tradition of humanism, which has gained extremely violent and offensive features in the history of invasive imperialism, accompanied by missions and disguised into the so-called humanitarian aid, reaching its peak point today with the so called refugee crisis and global terrorism

, humanism is confronting its perverse flip side - the neoliberal ideology of humanitarian humanism .

Here we are, we, the European humanists, the European humanitarians, wearing protection masks, fearing the disguise of terrorists and fearing the bareness of a refugee’s gaze. Someone would say: only if we manage to transcend the armour of our fear, we are able to see the other, to understand the blackness of the pupil of their eyes, to understand their humanity.

However - what if humanity is not a property of the other but rather just an obscene self-justification? What if the eyes of the other are only a screen projecting our own dreams, desires and fears? What if a blackhole is not somewhere on the other side but rather a rupture within ourselves?

Blackhole is a metaphor of a rupture: a rupture between liberalism and humanism, between the rich and the poor, between the city centers and the suburbs, between Central Europe and Balkan, between Christians and Muslims, between the white and the colored, between colonialists and subjugated, between immigrants and locals, between men and women, between me and you. The rupture is negative - but could it also be the spring of something positive? Could it become the spring of a new humanity?

Despite its invisible interior, the presence of a black hole can be inferred through its interaction with other matter and with electromagnetic radiation such as visible light.

Matter that falls onto a black hole can form an external accretion disk heated by friction, forming some of the brightest objects in the universe.

Your body so massive that even light could not escape it.

In your nakedness, I am getting lost.

We should be quiet. This is the day of a national mourning.
